City of Prague
Four versions of the word Prague in all world languages using Roman alphabet designate the city as an open, educated, contemporarily communicating metropolis with international fame. At the time of its creation, the logo was intended to symbolically extend a hand to all, who are coming to the city, and on the occasion to commemorate the not-so-ancient history, in which Prague was the centre of various ethnicities. Over the nearly 20 years since the unveiling of such a challenge, the originally somewhat wishful thinking has transformed into a fulfilled prophecy. The only obstacle in its multilingual low-threshold seems to be the white line, which separates the words into the right and the left bank of the Vltava, the quarrelling neighbourhoods of Vinohrady and Letná.
